Story Summary: Jegannathan is an married man who has his two sisters waiting for their marriage. He failed in his third attempt in getting a degree. The family background of Jagannathan is completely dependent on him. His Dowry 3000 spent on his course. He has sent his wife to her house as his friends started teasing him she is the reason for the failure in exam. His father wants Jegan to be placed in Income Tax office and earn through bribes. He lost his exam wrote a short notes for his wife and his dad left to the lonely railway track and lied on it. There he founds a mystery figure in whites approaching him. He escaped from the track and found that was another man named Mahanadhan who also in mood of suicide as he has no use though getting a degree. The story narration details every person of the family and also the need for Jegannathan to be living. The character of her wife very well described in the dialogue between where she clearly explains that she is not a disturbance in his studies. Instead she works as maid for him to make his works less and focus more. The idea of Jegan not to get money from his Uncle anymore states how much self respect he holds. Also he is clever making his note of address in his pocket for the police to identify him after his death. The description of the scene makes everyone feels a bit afraid of facing suicides anymore. And then his mutual save over mahanadhan opened new life for him. And the letter from his wife providing new hope gives a lesson that There is always a best option than one left. Only thing is to being ready for such chance.
